Posted by Danny I am a keen pipe collector/smoker and have been collecting pipe and pipe related items for about 12 years now. I have in my collection a very nice straight "billiard" style pipe by Benson and Hedges. It has a pure gold band on the shank, I would say that it is 9ct gold but I have not had it tested. I purchased this pipe at a car-boot sale about 10 years ago amongst a box of about 40 pipes which were mainly in poor condition. This amazing box also included various racks and a leather pipe pouch as well as pipe tools! All purchased for the sizable amount of £12! if my memory is correct! I got the box home and began eagerly cleaning the pipes and was shocked to find a number of Dunhill straight and bent pipes as well as various 2nd grade manufacturers. Amongst this collection was this Benson and Hedges pipe, it was actually completely black with grime and it took a lot of cleaning to get it back to its original self. It is now my favourite pipe and one which I use the most along with Borkum Riff cavendish cherry. Two questions: 2) Whilst cleaning it all those years ago the polished finish was slightly removed, does anyone know of a source for briar pipe polish to put the shine and protection back into the bowl? Correspondance can be sent to my e-mail directly which is: m0gmt@yahoo.co.uk (the "0" after the "m" is a zero - it's a ham radio callsign") I am seriously considering joining the PCOL so I hope to meet some fellow enthusiast soon, I am located in West Sussex. Many thanks, Danny.

Hello all,
1) Does anyone have a pipe made by Benson and Hedges - is it similar to this one? When were they manufactured as they don't seem to make them anymore.
