If you look a bit more, you'll also see it filed on 45cat as by the D e mensions.
When the record ("Over The Rainbow") made it's first appearance in Billboard, it was in May of 1960 as a Review, and then known only as by the D e mensions. When LAURIE Records bought the masters in June, they kept it on MOHAWK, but changed the spelling to the D i mensions. The outward sign of the two issues was the label styling. The original "e" release was on the then current red label. When it was re-issued with the "i", the label styling went out of normal with a maroon label and a different look altogether.
If you are filing because of it's Chart value, the spelling should be as The D i mensions, since that's the way it was at the time.
Billboard shows the group that charted "Over The Rainbow" at #16 in 1960, and "My Foolish Heart" at #95 in 1963 as "The Demensions". I searched these tunes on 45cat and see a pic of the Mokawk label as "The Dimensions". In filing MP3's of these tunes, should I file under "Demesnions", or "Dimensions"?
