Re: mr, eugene pitt passes
Fall of 1961 ... I was the guy in charge of the AYA (American Youth Activities) teen club jukebox in Berlin, Germany and "My True Story" was the second Beltone label record that I remember loading into the jukebox, after Bobby Lewis' "Tossin' & Turnin'. Both of them became the most played songs during their time. I can still remember that every time "My Tue Story" played the dance floor was loaded.
In 1982 I remember picking up the first of Marty Pekar's Ambient Sound albums by The Jive Five called "Here We Are" and I was blown away at how fresh they sounded, as if the sound they created in 1961 was still alive and well.
Sleep well, Mr. Pitt! Your time here was spent making many people happy!
