Whatever the identity of the woman whose passing is reported in the Observer, the obit is incorrect in stating that: "As a favor to a friend, 17 year old Marcie recorded a demo for Seville Records. The song was Bobby's Girl." Marcie did indeed record some demos of songs written by a fellow high school student: a Seville Records a&r man who heard those demos was so impressed with Marcie's vocals as to sign her with the song Bobby's Girl subsequently found for her to record.
