"Mr. Blue" which was their second hit and hardly what they would call an R&B record these days, made it to # 3 on the R&B charts.
During that era, music on radio stations wasn't as fragmented as it has been in the last 40 years. These days there is a category for everything.
I always hated to walk into a record store and find that they tried to seperate artists by what they thought was the correct genre. Inevitably, they were poorly defined.
