I was in 2N in 67-68 and we had "Bottle" for English. I think he died that summer. Sadly, we were very insensitive to his known terminal condition. Hardly true to say he retired, I think he worked until the end of the year, I remember him wearing something around his neck. A disciplinarian for sure but I don't remember ever thinking of him as unfair.
