Questions from an Old Skinner - Ian Norrie

Mr Norrie has approached the School asking for information on the last or penultimate Gibert & Sullivan performance of HMS Pinafore performed before the war. Alec McCowen played Little Buttercup. Can anyone confirm whether it was 1938 or not please? Also, can anyone remember the year that the staff performed Shaw's 'You Never Can Tell'?
