Gripped by the severe nostalgia suffered by most old fogeys, I recently found and joined the Old Skinners Society. I was at School from 1947 to 1950, played cricket for the 1st XI in 1949 and 1950, and rugby for the 2nd XV in 1949/50. Academic prowess was much more low key, until I astounded the whole teaching staff by achieving matriculation exemption with my School Certificate! Not returning to Kent after National Service, I soon lost touch with everyone. I last clapped eyes on Laurence Buckingham on Tonbridge station late one summer Sunday evening in 1953, when we returning to our respective RAF camps. I believe that Laurie is still farming in the Wadhurst area, and notice that he was President of the Society back in 1978. Some twenty years ago, I briefly encountered Jim Richardson professionally.
So, if there are any of you out there still sufficiently in command of your faculties to remember me, I would welcome a contact.
