We don't have a lot of furry critters in my neck of the foothills, although there are a lot of moose and deer coming down the mountains this year going through dumpsters when they can get away from the local paparazzi.
However, the birds are everywhere, and I do feel sorry for those wee ones when there's 6 feet of snow over their feeding grounds. I try to save a piece of bread or two from a loaf just to toss them, and it seems sometimes when I go outside they start chirping all at once and even dancing on the sidewalks "We're HERE! We're HERE!" Caught one even staring into my house from a tree branch the other day, like scounting for when I'm going outside.
New storm coming tonight, expecting 4 more inches of the white stuff. Right now I'm thinking of the convenience store, don't know why though.
