Which book was it that she took away? How old are you, I mean I started reading Nikki's books when I was 14 and my mom didn't care, she didn't think anything was wrong with it, but then again she didn't read the whole thing, just the back cover, she lets me read whatever I want to. *Shrugs* Anyway, were you reading Nikki's young adult novels, or her adult romance novels. If you were reading the latter, then I understand your mom's dissapproval of your reading choices. And if your mom was upset that you were reading the Val books, and it was because Val's mom is gay, then that's your mom's belief and you have to respect that. Hope I helped! ![]()
: Dear Breanne,
: I adore niki's writing as well (by the way,
: hi niki)Anyway, what you probably should do
: is ask your mom why she thinks these books
: are "inappropriate". Do this
: without "attude" and calmly as if
: asking for simple information. Do this at a
: time when you have time to talk (not in the
: car). Another help might be to think about
: what your mom will say and think of what you
: can answer with that proves (without being
: rude) that her reasons aren't really
: reasons. Hope that helped.

: aloud to read any of these books untill you
: are 21."
