Dear Breanne,
I adore niki's writing as well (by the way, hi niki)Anyway, what you probably should do is ask your mom why she thinks these books are "inappropriate". Do this without "attude" and calmly as if asking for simple information. Do this at a time when you have time to talk (not in the car). Another help might be to think about what your mom will say and think of what you can answer with that proves (without being rude) that her reasons aren't really reasons. Hope that helped.
