Posted by Nikki There are a couple of steps to prepare your nails before you apply the overlay! Firstly, make sure you have pushed your cuticles back as much as poss, (without making them sore) Next, dehydrate the nail by using a primer or acetone on a cotton bud. I hope this helps you. --Previous Message--

Hi Anna,
I am a qualified Nail Tech and have just read your message.
Next, taking a very slight gritted file or white block, very gently buff your natural nail to remove the shine (may I stress, this must be down very gently as not to go through the nail to the bed) This gives the overlay a slightly abrasive area to grip on to.
when thats dry, apply the overlay, making sure you do not touch the skin area around the nail with the overlay. (by this I mean flooding onto area)Sometimes the oils from the skin make the overlay lift.
Let me know whether it does or not!
I am in the UK!
