Mike and I feel that it is vital to remain in contact with players, coaches, and sponsors at this critical time in history. As you recall, Bill Horton (CEO of NSA) has placed NSA play on an indefinite hold depending on directions from the CDC as well as Federal and Local Government agencies. We feel that it is NOT a matter of “IF” we will be playing softball, but a matter of “WHEN”. Hagy and I will do our best to remain in contact with you and if you ever have a question, please do not hesitate to contact us.
At this time, the Governor has signed a “STAY AT HOME” Directive until the 19th of April. The CDC is encouraging all to wear a face mask while outside your home, and the White House is encouraging Social Separation until April 30. To remain in compliance with the CDC, State, and Federal Government, we are expecting that the BEST case is a start up date of May 2. That may seam like an eternity; however, is will still allow 6 months of softball. This date is NOT set in stone but just a best case.
However, we must stress that much can occur between now and the end of the month. The NSA National Office will be monitoring this on a daily basis and we will have weekly conference calls to discuss any and all changes. We will NOT keep you guessing and will update you with any and all changes as they occur or at the very least an update every two (2) weeks.
If you have not already done so, we encourage you to register your team and build your roster. If you have players without NSA points, have them apply for point ASAP. Player appeals may be submitted to the PPC (Player Points Committee) until June 1. PLEASE BE PRO ACTIVE AND NOT REACTIVE AT THE LAST MINUTE!!!
