Are there court documents, church records, land records, Tax records, loose papers, etc., etc. in repositories in the county that one just has to check in person; that just aren't available in libraries elsewhere or on the Internet? I checked all the indexed books of transcribed records for Franklin I found at the Tennessee State Library and Archives as well as at the North Carolina Archives in Spring 2002. I am really at a dead end for my ancestors in 1800 Franklin County. 2. If it is true that one needs to be there in person to really exhaustively cover everything, is there someone on this List who lives in Franklin County or close by, who might be willing to research all the records, information, etc. in the courts, libraries, Museums, historical societies, etc. of the County? I would be willing to compensate, of course. Or, would this be a waste of time? Living in Northern California, personally visiting Franklin County for an extended period of time is almost out of the question.
