Posted by Andy Blackard I have some old maps going back to the 1733 Moseley Map and there was a feature on the south side of the Tar River identified as WILLOUGHBY HILL in what would now be Franklin County. I think it would be roughly due south of Kitrell, but I'm not certain. Does anyone have any knowledge of this hill or the name Willoughby? thanks, Link: Blackard Family Website

My ancestor Charles Blackard of Granville/Bute/Franklin County had a son named Willoughby Blackard.
