Posted by Laura Murphy Ransom had been a juror and was on his way home from court whne he was shot. As far as I know they never found out who did it. I have an old newspaper article that gave fact of the event, but not many details. I have pictures of some of the Gill family. (My mother was a Gill and I ended up with all the bags and boxes of information that she had never done anything with. I live in Sampson County, NC. Where are you located? Will be back in touch.

I was glad to hear from you. Am up to my ears in things that have to be done in the next few days, but will try to send you some Gill information as soon as possible. I have a pretty good sized amount of it. Some of it, I have never had time to organize.
