Hi Bill, thanks for answering. I do not know much about my Stone side of the family yet.
I do know that my grandmother was Julia Frances Stone B. 10/1858 I think in Nash or Franklin County. Julia married Dewitt William Griffin 8/26/1875 in Nash County, NC.
Julia was daughter of Elias M. Stone B abt 1810 in Franklin County and Martha A. Thomas B abt 1818 in Franklin County.
Elias and Martha's children were:
(1)Elizabeth Stone B abt 1835 married Ashberry S Baines 2/12/1860 in Nash County
(2) John W. Stone B 2/1837 married Mary F Ward B 5/1838 (3) Martha A Stone B abt 1841 (4) Penelope A Stone B abt 1845 (5) Jonathan Stone B abt 1847 (6) William George Washington Stone B abt 1852 Nash County married Nancy Jane Earp 2/10/1876 Nash County (7) Sidney Stone B abt 1853 Nash County married Sarah Valentine 9/16/1877 Nash Co. (8) Julia Frances Stone (9) James Dewitt Stone. B 9/16/1877
I don't remember who I contacted, but someone in Nash County board wrote about the Stone family. You might post a query on the Nash County board to see if you get a response.
