Weatherstrip - 65 FB Posted by Novi Rick on 6/19/2012, 7:41 am I noticed on the window to door weatherstrip a metal flange or tab on the forward end. I have no hole to attach this to - should I have a hole? Should I drill a hole or cut the metal tab off? Also, where do I apply adhesive - all over back side of seal or just in the two edge channels? Also, anyone replace the "moleskin" on the rear window track? I need tips / techniques to remove existing material and install new material. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

Black weatherstrip adhesive goes in the groove and wherever the seal touches the body. Put the glue on both surfaces, paper thin. Let dry. Any chance this was an early mustang thing (Nov 1964 build date) and the parts are made for later 65 & 66? Can I get a pic of where the gasket ends up on the pillar?

The material I got from NPD was not wide enough to match the original look so I did mine in 3 passes - bottom and then each side. Had adhesive everywhere but it looked ok - especially for a part that never gets seen, but those are the ones I am good at.
