I have a parts car with cobra brakes, what do I need off the car? Posted by jeremy on 10/31/2009, 11:59 am 99.179.24.224 Hey all, I have an 86 mustang that has received the full late model cobra 5 lug brakes on all 4 wheels. The car has been updated with the brakes as well as the proportioning valve, sn95 brake booster and master cylinder. As for the rearend, it's an 8.8 355 rear end, and I'm actually going to set up the entire rear end for my 66...so i'm not worried about the rear, it'll go right in with the brakes after I weld the perches on. For the front, do I just need the rotors and calipers?? I assume I don't need the sn95 spindles, as I use my drum spindles and steves brackets?? what about the adjustable proportioning valve that's on the car, should I grab that too? master cylinder?? (I know the booster is too big..I'll use a fox booster likely) anything else I've forgotten?? Thanks all! Forum Owner and Moderator Front calipers with brackets AND BOLTS. Front rotors Prop valve Master cyl Hoses (maybe work, maybe not) Complete rear end Ebrake cables. Get the ebrake hand system as well - some of the guys have used them. I prefer a console. What seats does it have? Under hood light/switch, hatch light/switch, glove box light/switch, power mirror switch but not necessarily the mirrors for the 66. Had no idea about all the light switches, never thought of using those... actually only the brakes and rear are going onto my 66. my 66 already has a ford racing 5.0 roller crate motor with a 5 speed t5 in it...i'm just running 4 wheel drum still. the motor in this donor car is also a ford racing crate motor, and it's got an original cobra intake and lentech built AOD....this drivetrain is going into my 72 maverick... I'm still at the point where I need to get it aligned and get two new tires on the front, and it sits for that reason alone...just no extra cash. but for the few miles I have put on it, the cable hasn't changed one bit.
