Sealed the intake better (PO used NO RTV at all) , new thermostat and waterpump T stat was sticking Fresh Duplicolor 1621E Sealed one leaky exhaust manifold. Has a weird issue now though. Idles better/smoother but all of a sudden stumbles and almost stalls then rights itself. I'll mess with that tonight unless anyone has any ideas. I am guessing fuel filter or something in the ignition system. Has a new dizzy and points but the wiring is poor

Going to try sending tips when the questions arise. For instance: If your fuel system filter delivers enough fuel to run at high speed the idle and low speed performance is not filter related. Makes sense doesn't it, runs OK at high fuel flow then low speed performance is not filter related.

Gas is fresh. Truck was my Daily driver two weeks ago and its Sunoco 94. PCV was garbage. New one in place, still have the stumble. Ill sort it out tonight

You weren't kiddin about the wiring...looks like three wires from the resistor block over to the dizzy. Where you getting the vacuum for the dizzy?

Phil, Is it the angle of the pic or is the engine sitting about 3 inches off center to the the drivers side? Is that a 429 or 460?
That distinctive whine requires considerably more cash investment.
