Some pics of my 69 with the new Bullits Posted by Steve69 on 10/18/2009, 8:53 am 68.72.201.29 I lowered the front with 1" 550 springs and Shelby drop. Also added CPP lower control arms with Daze's roller perches. I also added mid eye 1 inch lower rear springsNow Im debating on which rack to go with and If I should cut the coils and drop the front end some more. The more I look at I think Im going to leave it with out cutting coils springs. Here are some before and after pics. Thanks for the help guys. Hey Bob when I bought this car in 1992 I had a full head of non gray hair and I was 25 pounds lighter..LOL. Thanks for the Photo Shop Phil. I wished you would Photo shoped me some hair..LOL Im a little afraid to go much lower. I had to add 1" spacers for the rims. Im afraid the tires might rub over bumps on the fenders. For the rear you can go reverse eye springs plus lowering blocks. If that don't get it you can have a shop re-arc the springs. Also, if they're new, they MAY settle a bit. I need to install a cruiser engine it. I picked up that 87 5.0 HO a few months ago so after I get the Rack in it Thats my next project. Just No sure about doing the Carb or EFI. Im thinking of Carbing it and when I see how it runs them going to EFI after I know what I got.  Post an Intelligent Response

The engine has around 90 K on it but he's not exactly sure. He won't drive it more than about 100 miles round trip. Says he's worried about the engine though he's made any number of 100 mile round trips in it. I ask why and he says, "Well, it has a lot of miles on it." So I ask: Does it hold good oil pressure?, Yes. Does it smoke and consume oil?, no. Does it hammer and clank?, no. Does it idle smooth and have decent power?, sure. So I wouldn't worry about it. Engines normally give a little notice when they have problems. Not always but usually they do unless they fail catastrophically under hard use. Funny thing...we drive our modern cars 150-200k (at least I do) and never worry about it. But an old car that runs fine makes us nervous. JMHO Butt (thanks Sal), if it runs good, has sound tires and brakes and steering/suspension, the biggest worry is wiring/battery/alternator/water pump/rad hoses...oh, and windshield leaks in the rain. Make sure the "consumables" are fresh and hit the road. Phew...Sorry. BB Why does everyone have time to do a job twice, but nobody has time to do it once...RIGHT? Over heating and It has a bigger cam thats not that great for the street. I switched out the 411 gears this last spring to 3.25s. I think If I get the HO in there work out the bugs Ill feel better about it. Last year I blew the radiator hose off out on a test drive of my new Aluminum radiator. That ruined the the Ingnition Box and Distributor. So thats why Im a little gun shy..LOL  Post an Intelligent Response

I'm just sayin' that engines, even old beat engines, rarely fail and die completely during a steady highway cruise. In my nearly 50 years of long distance cruisin' in everything from new cars to Model A's, the only time an engine actually left me high & dry was on an L.A. to 'Vegas trip in an "A" when I lost a #3 rod nut and grenaded the engine at 65 mph. That was prolly my fault (I built it) but there weren't enough big pieces left to do an autopsy. We were in an open speedster and it's a good thing we had seatbelts on...otherwise I think Jean woulda jumped out. Man what a racket!
