- Turn indicator does not work
Posted by lowercasesteve on 10/12/2009, 2:03 pm 209.33.99.100
My turn indicators do not flash. All the lights come on just fine. They blink once or twice, then stop. The battery in brand new @ 14+ volts. The alternator was rebuilt last spring and checks out good. I checked all the light bulbs, and they all work just fine. All of them including the dash board, stop lights, parking lights, tail lights. If I flip the switch for a turn in either direction, those lights come on. I changed out the flasher and no change. Since each light is separately grounded, it should not be a ground problem. I did verify the engine to firewall ground is good. Is there a way to check out a flasher to see if it works? What else could it be?

The flashers work the same way as the turn indicators. One flash, then the lights stay on. And My wiring diagram only shows one flasher. There are two? One is by the glove compartment. Where is the other?

lcsteve there is another one on left side about 6-8" from the leftside firewall plug. Need a flashlite and a limber body to get under there, it's a light blue plastic flasher.
Mike Walters 66 Vert. Hopefully with a 4.6, someday
