I've used Wesleys since the '80s when I ran white letter tires. It works very well. I haven't run white letter tires in a long time, but it cleans the black walls very nicely too. However, don't spray it directly onto your wheels, particularly if your wheels are clear-coated aluminum. It will eventually make the clear-coat start coming off if you apply it to the wheels.

Westley's is good stuff, but keep it off clear coat (and asphalt, for that matter)
When she asks "What parts did we keep?" I point to the roof.

Castrol Purple stuff: I spray it on dry tires and leave it while I wash the car. Then I mist the tires with water and a little more Purple stuff. I use a scrub brush. Works great on white letters or black tires. I just replaced my 3 year old, 58K miles RWL tires on my F-150 which I use on a construction project and the white lettering was still bright. The guy at the tire shop even asked me what I use to keep them so nice. I have chrome factory mags btw. Pat

if you have aluminum wheels. The stuff will RUIN a polished aluminum wheel. My brother did it on the Empi's on his VW a decade ago. It took him 15 hours per wheel to sand/polish them back where they didn't look like hell.
