I asked the question about shim removal for the drop when I did mine on my 66 and Opentracker replied that I should remove 1/4" of shims at each bolt. I did that and drove my car for quite a while before I got it aligned and really had no problems, drove straight and did not pull. I did get it aligned to Daze's specs before putting on the new wheels and tires that I have on it now. I also cut 1/2 coil from my stock springs at the same time I did the drop. The ride height is perfect for me, 13" from the center of the wheel to the fender lip. Rides and handles great now. Be sure you put on a 1" sway bar if you don't already have one. That made the single biggest difference in handling on my car.
