Yes it will help. I just wanted to point out that is still 1960s tech. Once the holes are drilled they stay drilled. The templates are a help, but really no better than a tape and center punch. That 1/16th of a inch, in least in my mind, is pretty important. I did the 1/8 inch backset and am sorry for it. Daze: In his articles has discussed a setback in regards to the upper control arms and the spindles. This extra 1/16th inch eleminates that and provides for more adjustment in the upper control arms. I really like the Ford design for this car or I would have went to the Mustang II system a long time ago. It certainly has weaknesses, but using the export bar and some other support it is very strong. The ride is superb for a light car and handling is, for the most part, pretty dynamic. If you've already drilled the holes ,just getting the strut bars machined and threaded will give you more adjustment and accuracy for alignment for a good front suspension. I had both my struts machined and threaded with locking nuts for about $80.00. Pretty cheap considering the advantage in accurate alignment.
