If you go from the C-4 to an AOD you are going to be giving up gearing --as far as first gear/launching is concerned.

C-4 has a 2.46:1 first gear. AOD has a 2.40:1 1st gear. 4R70W has a much better 2.84:1 1st gear ratio, will be much more responsive on take-off and shifts can be programmed sooner/later and firmness of shifts can be programmed.

The 4R70W will likely cost more than rebuilding the C-4 or swapping to an AOD but probably wouldn't be any more expensive than completely swapping over to a T-5.
