If you're planning any trips past Claremont (Mt. Baldy area), you might look up their ski patrol director Gil. He does a great job mounting ski bindings and runs a bit of a retail business from his home. Apparently his website is offline so no link. The Sport Chalet ski shop in Altadena (near Foothill/Hwy2) does a good job too. Or you could google the instructions and buy a purpose built drill bit (reliableracing.com) and just do it yourself. The main consideration for a 3-pin or NNN/SNS type system is if you want the toe pin/bar ahead of the balance point, on the balance point, or behind. If you bushwhack then you'll want the pin a tad in front of the balance point so that the ski tip lifts up (to clear brush) when you step. For track skiing you want the tip to stay low in the track when you raise your foot. For tele/AT bindings, google it and you'll find discussion ad nauseum.
