Pinos snowpack history" 209.221.221.X You can access local historical snowpack and climatological data thru my website at www.shopoutdoors.com/members/areaweather.html The member username is member The password is member0602 The Dept. of Water Resources should also be able to help; Ventura County has snowpack data from the summit gauging stations but some of it is very suspect due to the location of the gauges.  Post a Response

I've been coming up to Mt. Pinos to ski since 1986. I wanted to check my memory; it seemed that in the eighties you could always count on a berm of snow that was higher than the tops of the portapotties at the parking lot. And if the snow fell faster than the plows could handle it they'd leave the road open and you could drive over the snow to the top - I miss that in these more civilized days. In looking at these records it seems the precipitation was more irregular than I rememberedmy rental cabin, but still diminishing. Thanks again.  Post a Response
