Thanks Kelly. Gotta admit I've lost touch with the ODC but am very fond of the group and appreciate the cross-talk. So far it appears that the blockages were limited to one trail and so it wasn't that difficult for two of us to walk & clear in a morning. If we're lucky, further instances, if any, will be spotty.
We also walked the Southridge Trail (Generally referred to as McGill) from the road crossing up to Mt. Pinos campground. And the Mt. Pinos trail (aka McGill) from there up to Chula Vista Campground at the top of the road. Those trails did not have any fallen trees.
---> Note that there are a few HUGE fallen trees (natural circumstances) on the Northridge Trail. I'm talking 4 foot diameter. Since the upper mountain is a designated Biological Area, it is unlikely that machinery will be used to clear those trees. Those spots may become permanent hike/bike/ski arounds...

MtPinos Message Board Advisory: When planning a visit to Mt. Pinos, always check with a reliable weather forecast, as well as the Los Padres Ranger District, for the latest conditions and recommendations. These are good places to start:
