Mt. Pinos road has been, and will continue to be on the list of thoroughfares plowed by the State (I assume this means CalTrans but don't quote me). Since there's no residential or commercial interest at the end of the road, Mt. Pinos is lower on their priority list. How low? Well, if a heavy snow falls on Friday or Saturday night, there's a chance they won't finish other roads for a few days time, perhaps the remainder of the week (or longer if multiple storms continue to dump). But usually it's a matter of days before they dig out Mt. Pinos road.
Recently a snow removal vehicle was made available by a local agency and that's what has been parked at the "Y" and what broke down last week. Doesn't make much difference in how things are now versus how they were in previous years when that vehicle wasn't there anyway...
