Apparently the forest service was able to plow up Mt. Pinos road to the 2nd snow gate at McGill campground. So you could go snowshoeing from there as long as you keep tabs on your location. There are some trails and perhaps even an old FS road from McGill, but I've only passed through a couple times in the snow and I could imagine someone getting turned around - especially if visibility drops.
Forecast was more rain/snow on Saturday night which could affect access on Mt. Pinos road. Call the Mt. Pinos Ranger District at Chuchupate (Lockwood Valley) and ask them for an update during the day.
