Abraham Swango/Swanger emigrated from Berkeley County, Virginia (now Jefferson County West Virginia) to Kentucky about 1785. He settled in Wolfe County, then Gallatin County. I am looking for any clue to his Revolutionary War Service in Virginia. He is not listed in the VA Archives, the National Archives or any of the books such as Gwathmey, and nothing has turned up anywhere except that he leased land from George Washington from 1768 to 1785. He is said to have served in the 1st and 2nd Battalions in Frederick and Berkeley Counties of VA.
