I have moved and my Email has changed to:
ringtail3@verizon.net
I have one possible on the parents of Joseph Rainey Robertson in:
James Robertson b. ca 1735, Hamilton, Lanark Scotland.
Married a Violet Hamilton b. ca 1735 in Hamilton, Lanark, Scotland
son: Joseph b. ca 1775, b. Hamilton,Lanark, Scotland
With my DNA showing Hammiltons over Robertsons 3:1, I wonder if she may have had a son Joseph Hamilton, at her marriage to James? If so, and he assumed the Robertson name this would explain my Hamilton relationship!
If anyone has the capability to research this I would appreciate hearing from you. Maybe you trace back to a sibling of Violet, or a sibling of the Joseph Robertson line.
I will gladly share what I have on the 8 known children of Joseph and Susannah
Thank you, John
: Are there any Robertsons and/or Hamiltons
: that have found they are related (thru their
: paternal line "Y DNA)
: I have just found out that my particular
: line of the Robertsons devolved from the
: Hamiltons about 200-300 years ago.
: It seems that this line is fairly limited
: in scope.
: If you have hit the proberbial "stone
: wall" about 1775 +/- 50 years, you may
: be in this group.
: I hit the problem in the marriage of
: Joseph Rainey Robertson, b. Scotland ca
: 1775, m. Susannah Johnson 26 Nov 1795 in
: Madison county KY.
: I can find nothing on Susannah other than
: the marriage.
: I will answer any Emails
: Thanks, John Robertson
