In the original Japanese, Hotaru-chan is shy and quiet, and she's _very_ polite, to the point of being timid. This is probably because she's had so little contact with people and so on.
Then in the DUB, they made her act almost like...Chibi-Usa (Rini), and that's just so...wrong! It's so unlike the original!
Also, they mispronounced her surname. It's Toh-Moh-AY, not just "Tomo". Three syllables. Is it *that* hard to add "ay" to the end of a word!?
Sorry...needed to rant. ^_^'
