I'm new Posted by Anna on May 13, 2008, 8:45 pm 75.138.53.202 Hello all! I have been perusing the Foxfire Farms site as usual and figured I would post a hello here on the Molosser board! I am a dog trainer in Greenville, South Carolina and have been lucky enough to share my life with a Chow/Siberian Husky mix b*itch named Eve for the past 9 years. Eve is still going strong and she and I are both finally in a good position to get a puppy, so I have placed a deposit on a Foxfire Farms Central Asian Shepherd puppy! I've been researching breeds for a couple of years and I just fell in love with their temperament and their looks. Of all the breeds I've looked at, they remind me the most of my girl, just in a much bigger package! (She is about 23 inches tall and 50 pounds, about half the size of a CAS.) All my CAS research brought me back to Foxfire Farms and then I saw Coz's pic in a copy of the Dog Bible that I picked up at Petsmart and I was SOLD. So here I am.  Post a Response

Do you think it will be a difficult adjustment for Eve? I have a 12 1/2 yo Akita and despite being strange dog aggressive he has made out pretty good with my Tosa that I brought in when he was 3 and now my Presa/Corso mix that we just got, both females of course. As I'm sure you know you just have to watch them and use good common sense to avoid issues. I look forward to reading more from you. Jill  Post a Response

She has been my demo dog for years as well as my "nanny dog" for friends with adolescent brat pups who need to learn what manners are about. She actually gets along better with females for the most part. Males just seem to annoy her.  Post a Response

I also help people find the right breed and/or individual dog for their family and lifestyle (which is really fun!) Let me see if I can figure out how to post pics. I usually join mailing lists, posting boards are a new thing for me!  Post a Response

It's not like having a puppy will change the fact that Eve an I have been through a lot in the nearly 9 years we've been together. She's saved my butt, I've saved hers, and she will always be the best thing that ever happened to me. I have a sneaking suspicion that since it will be *her* puppy, and not a puppy belonging to a friend or a client, she will be more enamoured of the idea.  Post a Response
