Yup he's chilling out nicely really. Took awhile for him to come around for my husband, he was out of town for a week when I picked Spike up but now he's doing pretty well. He's still real unsure when he encounters walking feet and tends to cower but ducks out of the way so we don't have any mishaps. I'm wondering if perhaps he was in a kennel situation and at feeding time was shushed etc... by the feet of whomever was feeding the dogs. He's real good socially with the other dogs too. LOVES Datvi the CO. Now he'll take food and soon I'm planning on using this to get him leash trained... I tried it out a couple days ago and he wanted none of it so we'll try a few different things.
Thanks for the advice and thoughts. This little guy is funny too, it's fun to watch the different breed characteristics come out in him. He's got lots of Crested habits, like cleaning himself like a cat and little things he does but he's not too interested in cuddling, he'll ask for a belly rub but when he's ready for sleep he's at the foot of the bed, aloof like a poodle...then the cowering I figure is a shihzu thing???? I've only known fear biting ones so not sure I've ever met a Shihzu who didn't cower and duck... Hmmm...
Anyway doing well. I need to get more pics of him. His face was cleaned up a bit and he took that really well. Looks much nicer too. Anyway I'm off to work and to put the little ones out again for a last potty break before they get put up.

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
