So... Picked up the little guy and he's totally terrified of people... He'll follow me at about a 5ft. distance and is happy to do so but he's not at all happy if I come closer to him. When he's trying to get comfy on the bed he get's closer and closer to me but if I look at him and he catches me looking...he stops and then moves away. He doesn't roll over when I come near or pet him but he's definately fearfull.
I'm not used to the little dogs being this way...so I feel a little out of my element. I am not sure if I should give him a crate or if I should not touch him and sit around on the floor all day waiting for him or if I should kinda force the issue... Tonight I'm going to try treating and see if that doesn't help get him to come near me and calm down. I haven't tried that yet because, up until this morning, he's been pretty adamantly against taking anything from me.
He had some pretty good matts going and so I did have to do some haircutting just to clean him up but that doesn't seem to have made any of his fear worse... Any ideas???
BTW his name has been officially changed to Spike, he's got some black skin under that white hair so my husband naturally thought of Spike the Vampire from Buffy and Angel.
