Well he likes to figth dogs he does things a bit more different than ohers. Seems to be decoy vs dog in his mind.
If he wanted to get the dog off quicker I cant see why he fougth him vs pushing the dog into with his loose arm.
Not my decoy work saying that since I never did it . But from Vet tech, animal control and grooming if a real bite happens you shove your arm into the dog vs a tug of war the dog is always going to win and cause damage.
It worked well for me when I was bathing a older white GSD back in the 80's got my shoulder upper arm which thank god had a huge grooming apron and my hoodie and long johns I hugged him tigth and he released. No tear bad deep bruising and still needed a tetanus. Note the dog was sick and never bite me again the many times I bathed him.
( but I always doubled up on clothes just in case)
Hope he is ok and got tetnus and the dog is one tough dog I am assuming he was taugth to get the weapon hand and the trainer did not know it or the dog was under estimated.
trying to get spell check to work

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
