Hi Mary -
I've had tosas for years and I own 3 right now. My experience is that it will be hard for you to instill less barking in him. Out of my 3, one of my females is a barker. I beleieve this is/was because she was less confident than the others. She is doing much better after putting in puppy bootcamp. She use to bark at a strong wind. Now it's mostly at other animals or a stranger at a distance. It will be hard, but perhaps he/she will grow out of it.
