Sadly 7 is considered geriatric in big dogs. Have you taken him to the vet for a senior blood panel? It could be something as simple as hypthyroid or arthritis both of which are treatable. Don't just let him struggle especially if he seems to be in pain. There are too many treatments to try now. Good luck with your old boy.
