Thanks for the information. I guess from now on if I want to just use a blanket term as far as russian dogs go I'll call them all shepherds... I HATE what's happened to them in modern Russia with the fighting etc... I'm with Yelena on the whole idea of preserving at least the Caucasian Ovcharka as they were used and still are used in the Caucuses.

Pit Bull owners can be worse than their dogs are at times as well...LOL...so far I'm lucky in only knowing "normal" folks within the CO breed.
