Sara pls forgive the intrusion.
The term "ovcharkas" Russian for shepherds dogs or sheep dogs or dogs to graze with sheep, and even the OES is then classified as a "ovcharka". If the NAME is in FRONT of ite.
So when we post OVCHARKA it gives people who do not know the distinct difference between the Russian type dogs and the native dogs a chance to LUMP them again as the SAME breed .
If we do NOT post the NAME of the specific breed in front of ovcharka.
Im trying VERy hard for 13 years to separate the original shepherds dog of Central Asia from the OVCHARKA"
Ex; the Koochee dog type which does NOT resemble the Ovcharka type of Russia.
The "rare ovcharka" term is used so often by backyard breeders( not u but who read this board .
Who breed or cross CAO CO SRo and even ERO.
When someone posts I own a OVcharka .
Lets say a CO which is more well known world wide and especially here.
The US people LUMP all of them together as
the SAME breed "Ovcharka. "
Kin to me saying I own a SETTER or a SPaniel.
Without the name in front of it it is meaning less.
Truth be told every time someone ask about a CAS or a CAO someone replies ( not you) that ohh those are those Ovcharkas from National Geographic or then they say Oh Caucasian is different then Central Asian..By then the DAMAGE is done the CAS is lumped for the 100 million time as a Russian Ovcharka
Which is wrong is so many ways to the CULTURE of Central Asia.
We have TONS Of websites dedicated to Caucasian Ovcharka FULL TIME
I know you LOVE and are very proud of your Caucasian Ovcharka.
But I beg you pls use Ovcharka when only in reference to your breed your breeder and your dog.
But here the Central Asian dogs on this board are being preserved as Shepherd dogs of Central Asian kin to the Kooche dog as posted .
And from what I can see you breeder who is Russian is trying very hard to preserve the original Caucasian before the breed was changed into this new "bear huge non working dog"
I commend her for that :0 I hope you can post when people ask about the difference
between old type dogs vs modern reps.
That the CAS is not Ovcharka NOT Russian and That the new CAO looks like a Apple compared to the ORANGE Kooche dog that was just posted.
We do NOT wish to be as well known or badly known as the rep the Caucasian Ovcharka sadly has.
We deserve a right to exist.
Leaving the Ovcharka in the past where it belongs for native dogs of Central Asia .
I cant say I breed Koochee dogs.
Cause then all dogs i breed would have to come only from Afghanistan, Same applies for Alabai which is for Turkmenistan type.
Here we just use generic Central Asian Shepherd dogs of all types and all size and all colors to represent the Ancient working dogs of the nomads.
Thanks for reading

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....
