Xanax is used in dogs all the time. Works great for thunderstorm anxiety or fireworks anxiety. We prescribe alot of it.

Also -tick borne illnesses can cause alot of mysterious problems. Who knows...

Regardless it is a shame the poor woman was attacked so vicisouly. And I do feel bad for the owner - just a horrifying event for all involved.
