I dont think there is any lack of defense drive in an average even, presa at all, I find them to be very defense driven. SOME and not all have good nerve, the reason why I think they aren't good for sport is because the way the bite is not fully commited( grip not full mouth, front teeth), but maybe they are just tactical like that because these dogs i found to my surprise on average r very intelligent, and I know that biting with front teeth is supposed to be a sing of avoidance I just don't see that being the cause meanwhile the dog wraps his front legs of the decoy, I think the wits of this breed they are just getting ready to regrip if necessary
