I know exactly what you mean, I rescued a Presa within our organization called "Death Row Rescue" (a multi-breed rescue group) which is a fitting name in and of itself because the dogs we take in are waiting to be put down at any moment.
Long story short, we never gave him up, that was over 3 yrs ago and he's here to stay, we were never able to part with him, terrific male that was almost sent to an early unnecessary grave like so very many others.
The Presa is another breed that has gone through a big phase with the phoney image perpetraitors (The spelling was intentional) who wanted a breed larger than a pitbull for the same reasons.
These type of owners have scathed the breed like the rest of them, here in my area Rotties aren't even known as such, they're called ghetto dogs.
A shame for such a great breed.
