I've had 4 boxers, 2 at a time. They are so sweet and goofy. They love people and usually get alnog with other dogs. Then they have a protective side to them, but not too protective to where I feel I have to take a lot of extra precautions with strangers. They're just right.
We chose to get a pug as our first dog back when we were in an apartment and wanted a small companion dog to fit our living situation, but not a "foo-foo" one. Pugs are a lot of dog in a small package, as they say. He's my miniature mastiff.
