How can people read this article and not understand that when they gave money to PETA to take care of Vick's dogs when it all went down was going to go to the Euth. of the dogs and in turn was going to be spent on more PETA propaganda like this stuff.
I mean it's obvious that even at the rescue the dogs are getting a better life than even some pet homes out there...I'm not sure where the cruelty lies except in the fact that they are housed as pets...
The overpopulation thing is just plain nuts... Our shelter alone goes through so many dogs! We're up to 20something one week and back down to 12 the next...small town...yet they adopt out plenty of dogs...plenty of homes to go around. Our shetler is a no kill shelter as well...
ANYWAY...such propaganda! What I want to know is where some of the experienced APBT people are??? I think if they put their expertise to the task of helping these orgs. take on the dogs and help them it'd be great... HOWEVER most of those people are also ones being falsely or AFRAID of being falsly accused of fighting dogs because they own more than one well conditioned APBT, walk them, train them, own a breaking stick (as all multiple pit bull homes should) and travel between states with the dogs (for dog shows) and sell puppies on occasion--to pet or show homes...
Catch 22 here..and guess who created it???? HSUS...PETA come to mind.
