We purchased a Stratford Home, in Rathdrum, ID. The "distributor" whom we did not have any choice over, worked through the floor plans, changes, ect. We were given a final price put our 20% down to get the house started in the building process. Now its been over 7 months, and we still do not have a completed home. After seeing what the contractors had done to the stairs going to the basement, there was almost a inch and a half gap on one side of the stairwell. That was only the start of it, the marriage walls were done so bad that you could still see the seam. There were stress cracks in almost every room from the transporting. The shingles on the roof are blowing off, and the roof cap, the nails are pulling out. The final kicker was when they were sheetrocking the basement, (without insulation, in Montana no less) and the electricity had not even been installed. Unfortunatly, they are no longer, our contractors, too much unprofessional workmanship. The sad part is Stratford gives the builders the distributorship, they should also stand behind their builders, if they can not do the job, then Stratford should have someone to come in and finish it. I bought a Stratford Home, not a LMP Construction home!!! They should be responsible for their distributors!! Just because some people can talk the talk, does'nt mean they can walk the walk. And these Contractors certainally have shown that they don't know what they are doing.
