What good is an excavator (or pair of excavators) without something to haul away the excavations? Those who have seen my collection of N scale dump trucks know the answer, but I've also been working to finish up a pair of 3D printed dump trucks I picked up a year or two ago. The first has the dump body that came with the kit, the body on the second came from what I believe to be an old Walther's kit, but the proportions seemed to fit pretty well. The body on the second needs a bit more weathering.
The two trucks were printed through Shapeways (the same Shapeways the Wall Street Journal printed an article about in today's paper), and were easier to assemble than many of the GHQ or Showcase Miniatures cast metal kits, although they have their own challenges. All in all, they're a unique model that isn't available elsewhere.
