Today is one of those once a year days where its the same date on the model railroad as in reality (but 32 years removed). Its always been easy to remember when I started this layout, (6/1/08-7/1/78), because a few months later the dates met on my birthday, 7/27/78-7/27/08. Days went a lot faster back then when the layout was smaller, but so far I've gone through almost exactly five months on the model railroad, while two and a half years in reality have passed. At the rate I'm going nowadays, I'll be long gone before I'd have to worry about wide cabs!
I picked up the plow at Whistle Stop Trains in Portland OR a few years ago. It was originally MILW, but I repainted it to Conrail, and added railings and some details to the roof to model one of the plows that was kept at Botsford Yard in Kalamazoo for years.
